Binational centers discuss CaMLA tests in Colombia

Exam managers from Binational Centers meet with CaMLA in Bogota

On April 25, at the Centro Colombo Americano in Bogota, Colombia, CaMLA Deputy Executive Director Cris Betts attended the first of two events organized by Cambridge ESOL to discuss recent developments at CaMLA with Binational Centers in Colombia, Peru, and Equador.

The day was split into two main sections. During the first part of the day, test-center managers were updated on CaMLA systems enhancements (such as CaMLA's website interface, as well as improved operational procedures); product developments (including a soon-to-be launched MET Speaking Test); exams recognition; and marketing strategies.

The second half of the day was devoted to a workshop in which participants exchanged ideas about how to reach out to more test takers who would benefit from CaMLA exams. CaMLA received valuable input about its products from all in attendance. Equally valuable, however, was the chance for delegates from various test centers to come together in the same space and learn from each other’s experience.

"We hope we’ll be able to enhance the positive relationship and close collaboration between CaMLA and the Binational Centers in the future," said Betts. "Feedback from this first event has been overwhelmingly positive. CaMLA is committed to supporting these centers as they work to increase the numbers of test takers with access to CaMLA products."

The second Binational Centers event will take place in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in July.
